See Where the Leaves are Changing
Fall Foliage Report | November 5, 2026
In a season of unpredictable foliage, the leaves are showing their true colors now — and in beautiful fashion. Northern, Central, and Southern Virginia are awash in reds, oranges, and yellows, while the fall colors are also finally reaching the Coastal areas. In the middle of the state, look for oaks of scarlet, golden amber, russet, and maroon. Their colors intensify before turning brown, so now’s a great time to get out and see them on a weekend getaway to a city like Richmond, Charlottesville, or Danville. Towards the coast, red maples, coppery baldcypress, and yellow tupelo stand out amongst green pines — perfect for if you’re one of those people who’s already in the holiday spirit. (No judgement). With a scenic drive or an off-season beach visit, you’ll be able to enjoy the fall colors minus the crowds and get in one last trip before the holiday frenzy.
